Edison Glass: Time is Fiction
Edison Glass is a band that has been pushing the boundaries of indie and alt rock for a while. Grabbing what you think you know about what rock and hurling it out the window. The only excuse not to like this band is not hearing them before.
Coming from Coram, Long Island, New York, Edison Glass is using their widely diverse backgrounds and influences to bring creativity back into a scene in desperate need. The 4 members have been a band since 1998 but have been friends for most of their lives. What makes them so unique is the amount of creative musicality. What i mean is they use progressions and riffs that are heard in completely opposite of them and make them work. They use time signatures rarely used and vocal techniques not often heard and make something fresh. While the music sounds odd and complicated at first, there is still the sense of catchiness that grabs your ear and doesn't let it go.
This CD is one of my favorites and I'm so thankful for Nick Weil for showing me this band. Music listeners, grab this if you are tired of all the same pop rock bands of today. Musicians, pick up this CD and be inspired to make some new and unique. Bottom line, get this CD.
