We have all sorts of new and exciting features coming.

Crooked X

Hey guys Tim from Broken FM here. I ran across this band in a magazine the other day and had to see them for myself. Crooked X has come out with their debut CD this past January and they are all under the age of 16. Now I sometimes fell old around here but these guys are almost half my age. :) As young as they are they have a sound that is best described as old school. It just a fun sound that you can just put on and rock out to. The video below is a great example of that rocking sound. It is a song called Nightmare. As I understand it they wrote this song when they were just 11 years old. You can also check out this band on the game Rock Band. Check it out and comment.

As I Lay Dying releases a brand new DVD package

A few years ago I saw As I Lay Dying play at a small club called Slim's in San Francisco. It is in a place like that where this band shines. They bring a brutal set that is punctuated by lead singer Tim Lambesis' stage presence that at 6'3" 201 pounds can best be described as imposing. Tim Lambesis is also known for another trademark that is also a major part of their live show. That would of course be his long black hair. It turns out that back in the early days he was shaved and didn't even see himself as a lead singer. In their new DVD "This is Who We Are", released on April 14th, the band gives an inside look at their formation and some insights on the faith and personalities of the members. This set is a 3 disk set that includes the behind the scenes documentary, a live performance with the current lineup and disk of music videos and many other bonus features. The DVD is currently #2 on the Billboard music video charts and may soon be occupying #1.

The new video for the song "I Never Wanted" off the album "An Ocean Between Us" will be debuting on Headbangersball.com April 30th and will be premiering on the show May 9th. More info on the premiere and some upcoming dates for the band can be found here. Below is a sneak preview of behind the scenes look at As I Lay Dying.

OK Go - Here It Goes Again

With 55 million hit on YouTube "OK Go - Here It Goes Again" deserves to be watched over and over again. The question is why didn't I think of using treadmills for my last music video? Well they did and got the hits to prove that it pays to be a little wacky every once in a while.

Scottish Bagpipe Revival Friday with Flatfoot 56 and their Amazing Grace Video

Today I don't know what came over me but during yesterdays show I got really excited about flatfoot 56. So today it turned into Scottish Bagpipe Revival Fridays and I played pretty much most of their songs from 7 to 9 this morning. I got some great  feedback last night from Keith and my wife and really helped me find my stride for today's show. I think Fridays is a good time to blow of some steam go hard core and feature individual bands and really get into it on the radio. Flatfoot 56 rocks and the bagpipes are a special touch that takes their music to another level. The music to "Knuckles Up" make you feel like you're a soccer hooligan in a bare knuckle scrap  at a local pub after your team lost the match. Good jobs guys.

Chicago’s Celtic-punk outfit FLATFOOT 56 will enter Absolute Sound in Houston, Texas on February 1st to begin the recording process for their highly anticipated new album, due out later this year. The as-yet untitled full-length will arrive as the follow-up to the band’s critically lauded 2007 release, JUNGLE OF THE MIDWEST SEA. Johnny Rioux of Street Dogs will take the helm as the album’s producer and engineer.
